The Orange Island Project is a new 150-hectare Lagos neighborhood developed by Orange Island Development Company in partnership with the Lagos State Government. The infrastructure on the island is now completed, and landowners have begun constructing their homes.

As a project supported by our sponsors, Orange Island proudly serves as the pioneering location for the Building Women training initiative. Over the past two years, we have empowered 35 women (with 25 successfully retained) through comprehensive training programs in areas such as road and drain maintenance, road block paving, nursery establishment, landscaping maintenance, and machine operation.

Our vision goes beyond individual skills development. We aim to broaden the horizons for our women by connecting them with contractor companies involved in the construction of houses on the island. Our next step is to forge partnerships with prominent construction firms, including esteemed collaborators like El Alan, to provide our women with even more opportunities.
