It remains committed to breaking down barriers and creating a brighter, more inclusive future for the construction sector in Nigeria.
Main Activites
- To identify, source, vet and register young women trainees through outreaches in underprivileged areas, religious bodies, women organizations, NGO’s and schools
- To partner with private sector construction industry players and vocational centers to provide on the job and vocational training in masonry, joinery, electrical, plumbing, roofing, welding and other construction skills
- To match trainees with employment on sites of leading construction companies
Target Demographics
Underprivileged, low-income/unemployed young women in Lagos State, between the ages of 15-35 years.

For the moment, we are focusing on skills that do not require any formal education level. The skills range as follows:
Road and Drain Maintenance and Cleaning
Sand and Stone Base Laying
Road Brick Laying
Painting
Brick Laying
Screeding
Nursery Establishment and Garden Maintenance
Machinery and Equipment Operation
Labourer training
Process
Sourcing and Matching
- Girls identified and sourced through BW channels.
- Initial Vetting and registration
- Matching with a funding source
- Matched with a training partner
Funding
- BW Direct Funding or
- Direct Donor matching or
- Trained and paid by Training Partner
Deployment
- Placement with a training partner for two(2) years of training.
Graduation
- Certification from a training partner and
- Certification from Building Women
